Conterno Fantino - Barolo Ginestra Vigna del Gris Magnum 2017
Scenically set on top of Monforte d’alba with a sweeping view of the majestic Alps, Conterno Fantino is one of the leading producers of the area. They organically farmed 27 hectares. The philosophy is based on a modern approach promoting respect for the environment (biodynamic principles for vineyard management, solar panels and geothermal systems in the cellars), and ambitious wine making. The resulting wines are enticing, dense, deep, and elegant, amongst the most refined in Piedmont, sought-after by wine collectors around the world.
Organic - 100% Nebbiolo. Ginestra is a historical cru of 10 hectares situated at an altitude between 300 and 350 metres, arranged on steep slopes, prevalently exposed to the south and in part to the south east. it is divided in several subzones: Vigna del Gris is one of them. According to Masnaghetti, Barolo Vigna del Gris is generally the leanest and fruitiest of the entire cru. Forty year old vines rooted in a south / southeast-facing terroir composed of sand (50%), silt (35%) and clay (15%)
